Electrical & Electronics Assembly
Approximately one-third of ASSEMBLY magazine’s readers make electrical or electronic products. That encompasses a huge swath of products, including circuit board assemblies, wire harnesses, electric motors, batteries, solar panels, vacuum cleaners, microwave ovens, lamps, phones, clocks, stereos, computers, avionics, engine control modules, thermostats and radar systems. According to our annual Capital Equipment Spending Survey, assemblers of electrical and electronic products will account for 28 percent of total spending on assembly technology in 2022, up from 18 percent in 2021. Compared with other industries, electronics assemblers are more likely to be buying equipment to comply with standards or industry regulations, while assemblers of electrical equipment are more likely to be buying equipment to replace old or worn-out machinery. In this section, you’ll find information on parts and supplies for electrical and electronics assembly, such as labels, connectors and terminals, as well as equipment, such as wire cutting and stripping machines, crimping presses, and soldering robots.
