Vision Systems, Sensors & Guarding Devices

The human eye is a remarkable instrument. It can distinguish hundreds of colors and pick out an object as thin as a human hair from several feet away. It can detect the rotation of a baseball travelling at 90 mph and identify a right angle with an accuracy of 1 degree. But, for inspecting spark plugs at a rate of 1,000 units per hour, the human eye is woefully inadequate. Machine vision systems, however, can handle the job. Vision systems can count parts, read text, inspect beads of adhesive, detect missing or misoriented parts, measure part dimensions, and find flaws, such as burrs, cracks or scratches. Vision systems never get tired, bored or distracted, and they can be put in environments where people cannot safely work. Vision systems help assemblers improve quality, reduce scrap and control their processes. In this section, you’ll find info on the latest in vision systems, sensors and guarding devices.
