Adheso is a robotic gripper that can handle sensitive battery components, such as cell pouches, without mechanical force. The bionic-inspired device is based on the principle of adhesion, using the intermolecularly acting Van der Waals forces for handling. This effect can be reversed by applying a slight pressure and rotary movement so that the gripper can be loosened residue-free from the handling object.
