Measurement System Analyzes EV Drivetrain Efficiency

KiBox2 E-Powertrain Analysis is an all-in-one measurement system for developing, testing, benchmarking and validating electric, hybrid and fuel cell drivetrains. It features real-time power analysis, ultra-fast calculation windows for highly dynamic and precise testing procedures, and a modular design that scales to virtually any application. The device measures individual drive components like power electronics, inverters, e-motors and resolvers. The scalable system is equipped with up to 64 measuring channels and powerful processing functions that can record measurement signals across the entire power train. Power analysis of electric power trains and combustion-based technologies, such as range extenders, can be carried out simultaneously with a single system. Synchronized data acquisition and calculation of crank-angle and time-based variables allows for combined energy flow analysis in both domains.

Modular Connectors Reduce Wiring Harness Complexity

MX-DaSH Modular Wire-to-Wire Connectors use multiple, versatile cartridges incorporated into a single housing system to simplify wire harness architectures, while improving flexibility, adaptability and scalability across multiple vehicle models and applications. They are designed to solve some of the biggest pain points in today’s automotive design processes that are caused by constant, rapid change in electrical and electronic requirements. The connectors make it easy to mix-and-match functions and reconfigure wire harnesses or modules to help achieve faster development cycles and reduced costs.

Each connector is based on an unsealed, cartridge-based hybrid connectivity platform that consolidates multiple connectors and connection types into a single connector. This building block approach optimizes vehicle harnesses, which can result in significant weight, size and cost savings.

Structural Adhesive Assembles Head-Up Displays

Photobond SJ4195 enables structural bonding of complex display components at production speed. It is ideal for assembling panoramic head-up displays that contain mixed-material components. The UV-curing structural adhesive features excellent adhesion to magnesium die-cast parts and low outgassing, making it suitable for structurally bonding optical components. Viscosity has been specifically adapted to typical component geometry and process requirements. This enables controlled dispensing even at high layer thickness, while larger gaps are reliably bridged. The colorless adhesive has no negative impact on optical components, while enabling application control via vision systems.

Leak Detector Tests EV Battery Modules and Packs

The BES4000 leak detector is designed for end-of-line testing of lithium-ion and sodium-ion battery modules and packs. It combines sniffer-based localization with accumulation-type pack testing, closing a long-standing gap in battery quality assurance. Based on the principle of electrolyte sniffing, the device can detect small traces of electrolyte vapors escaping from defective cells. This makes it possible to quickly and reliably locate leaks directly on assembled battery packs and modules without the need for chamber retesting. Escaping vapors are detected by a highly sensitive sensor system that reacts within 1 second. This enables operators to pinpoint the exact location of leaks, even within complex battery pack assemblies. The device detects leaks post-module welding, identifying defects missed by pressure-based and vacuum-chamber testing.
