Flame-Retardant Material Helps Protect EV Control Units
LNP Thermocomp WFC061I compound with nonhalogenated flame retardance is designed to protect electric vehicle control units. It provides structural performance for the protection of sensitive internal electronic parts from fire, smoke, impact, moisture and other threats. The material can also replace metal in EVCU covers to reduce weight significantly and expand design freedom. Other features include colorability, low warpage to increase yield and high optical transmission for precision laser welding. The glass fiber-reinforced compound is the world’s first laser-weldable FR polybutylene terephthalate material.

Digital Work Instructions Error-Proof Assembly Operations
To address new tariffs, supply chain pressures and labor shortages, manufacturers must digitize to stay competitive. Pico MES eliminates paper-based systems on assembly lines with technology that streamlines production, improves quality and strengthens workforce adaptability. The digital work instruction platform automatically tracks every nut, bolt and part, reducing errors by 50 percent. It creates a digital twin of assembly processes and connects factory tools, capturing data for complete visibility into the supply base and providing actionable insights to identify areas for continuous improvement.

New Production System Boosts Battery Cell Throughput
X.Cellify production equipment enables lithium-ion battery cell manufacturers to improve quality and throughput. Key components include dry coating of electrodes, which does not require a drying process, and Z-folder technology for cell assembly with integrated notching. The next-generation production system requires 50 percent less space and energy than in the past. Instead of a conventional slurry, the Activated Dry Electrode process uses a dry-mixed active material. The powder mixture is pressed into a free-standing film using calender machines, then laminated onto both sides of the collector foil. Compared to traditional wet coating, this eliminates the drying process, as well as the recovery and treatment of solvents.
