Lights Direct Connector Assembly

The Light Director system is a CableEye accessory that provides a computer-guided technique for assembling connectors used in aerospace, medical and other high-reliability applications. The system uses LED-lit fibers to individually illuminate target cavities in the connector being assembled. When the technician enters the code printed on unconnected wires, or touches a wire connected at the other end, the CableEye software turns on the appropriate fiber, thereby causing a bright, flashing light to project from inside the target cavity, indicating the proper insertion point. Correct insertion is confirmed by the elimination of light from that location, whereas insertion into an incorrect location leaves the flashing light visible. Using synthetic speech, the device can read the pin number to the technician, further reinforcing the target location. Speech can be activated in English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Polish or Turkish. Speech recognition is also available as an option, permitting the technician to speak wire codes to the system, thus eliminating the need for a keyboard or monitor.

Machine Processes Heat-Shrink Tubing

XB 17 and XB 19 generate heat for shrinking heat-shrink tubing. XB 17 offers a maximum operating temperature of 600 C and can process tubing up to 19 millimeters in diameter and 90 millimeters long. XB 19 has wider heating elements and an adjustable belt distance for processing tubing up to 25 millimeters in diameter and 160 millimeters long. Both machines can be upgraded with an easy-to-install automatic centering device. The machines have a slim design with touch screen operation and an industry-grade PLC. The belt automatically reverses direction to prevent wire from entering the chamber before reaching the desired temperature. Connections are provided for bar code scanning, data collection and manufacturing execution systems. Optional accessories include product holders for ring terminals and stubs, and a machine stand with wheels.

Hygienic Cable Gland

The KEL-DPZ-HD cable gland has been specially developed for the use in the food and pharmaceutical industries. The surface is very smooth so that there are no dirt-collecting recesses on the visible side. The outer contour radius of 6 millimeters—instead of the required 3 millimeters—exceeds European hygienic design standards. The cable gland is made from an FDA-compliant material. Cables and hoses with a diameter of 3.2 to 22.2 millimeters are routed through the part and sealed to IP65, 66, 67 or 68 standards. Depending on the version, up to 35 cables can be routed. The plates are available with a metric thread in sizes M32, M40, M50 and M63. The cable entry plate is fixed in place with a lock nut.
