Electrical Insulation Tape for EV Batteries
Volt Tough electrically insulative, single-sided filmic tapes are engineered to address the challenges of insufficient electrical insulation in EV battery packs. Proper insulation is critical to protecting cells and other sensitive components to prevent electrical arcing that can lead to shorting and fires. Arcing can occur between high-voltage battery cells and conductive components throughout a pack, including the cooling components, bus bars, cell connection systems, heat spreaders, and other structural elements.
The tapes have high dielectric strength with thin, consistent profiles, enabling higher energy density. They bond instantly for efficient production. The tapes are available with a range of properties to meet various applications, including conformable options for curved geometries; abrasion-resistant options; various colors for vision inspection systems; and flame-retardant options for UL 94 and other requirements.

Comfortable and Safe Ferrule Crimping
The PZD 16/R and PZU 16/R crimping pliers are used for precise and safe attachment of ferrules to conductors according to the DIN 46228 standard. The pliers are supplied with a square or trapezoidal crimp insert, respectively. The tools are easy to handle and can be adjusted 360 degrees in 45-degree increments, depending on preference or available space. The inserts can be exchanged quickly without tools. This allows users to adapt them to their preferred posture and work comfortably even in hard-to-reach places.
One tool is sufficient for ferrules, with and without insulating collars, up to 18 millimeters in length, with cross-sections from 0.08 to 16 square millimeters. The tool can also handle twin sleeves from 2 by 0.25 to 2 by 10 square millimeters. The crimp is automatically adapted to the conductor cross-section.
The crimp tools are durable, ergonomic and designed for fatigue-free work. They are compact, lightweight, handy and self-opening via an internal spring. They have soft handles with molded slip protection. Crimping requires minimal effort. An unlockable forced lock ensures safety. The crimp tools are made of high-strength steel, with a special coating for the most stressed parts.

Metal Hoods With M25 Angled Cable Entry
The wide range of 21.21 rectangular connectors offers a number of advantages for modern industrial applications. They provide a secure and reliable connection for power and signal transmission, with high resistance to environmental factors such as dust, moisture and vibration. In addition, their compact design allows for easy installation and maintenance, making them a popular choice for a wide range of industrial machinery and equipment.
The new size 21.21 metal hood with angled M25 cable entry can accommodate large diameter cables or wire bundles while eliminating torsional stress on the locking lever of the mating enclosure. They are available in four versions: a standard version for heavy-duty applications, a DESINA version with a bonded gasket, a W-type version with improved corrosion resistance for aggressive environments, and an EMC version with a conductive surface for optimum electromagnetic shielding.
These are fully compatible with the existing range of 21.21 enclosures and they are particularly suitable for CQ series inserts with a high number of individual conductors. When installed with a sealing kit (CKR-65 or CKR-65D), they provide IP66, 67 or 69 protection.

Automotive Ignition Parts
ETCO has introduced a full line of standard automotive ignition components. The line-up includes 1,800 standard parts, such as spark plug and distributor terminals, insulation boots, and heavy-duty ring and battery terminals—all available with wire-attach equipment and booters. The parts can be stamped from brass, tinned steels, stainless steels, beryllium copper, phosphor bronze, and other alloys. Supplied in strip-form or as loose parts, these components are designed to simplify automated and manual assembly operations and can be supplied with compatible equipment for wire attachment. Manufactured in the USA, the parts can be stamped with thicknesses ranging from 0.006 to 0.078 inch and tolerances to 0.0005 inch.

Harness Tester Indicates Distance to Short or Break
The CableEye cable and harness test system can now show engineers the distance to a short in addition to the existing distance-to-break capability. Owners of systems with an active product support subscription may download a complimentary software upgrade. Activate the “distance to fault” option to find distance to a break or short. This feature requires the model M4 low-voltage continuity tester or the HVX hipot tester fitted with the advanced measurements option.
All CableEye testers ship with comprehensive software providing test functions, a connectors database, graphic wiring display, reporting, data logging and automation scripting. At the click of a button, engineers can visualize the wiring schematically or by netlist. Components are automatically detected and displayed (including diode orientation). Wiring faults are color-coded, and full measurement data is provided for every pin-to-pin connection.
Another click provides a detailed customizable report, complete with wiring schematic and netlist. A short (red) is clearly identified in the netlist view, and both audio and visual signals indicate the harness test has failed. The distance to fault is provided in percent of total cable length. The match data (in wiring schematic view) is the data against which the cable is being tested..
